Peligro controversially dethrones Borja García in War 7

Gijón, August 23, 2025 – The La Guía Sports Palace roared once again with the seventh edition of WAR , consolidating Gijón as the epicenter of Spanish MMA . The evening left emotions, controversy and new talents, with a result that left no one indifferent: Ahmed “Peligro” El Idrissi won by split decision over Borja “El Águila” García , while two debutants from the Centro Deportivo Tíbet , Mor Dieye and Diaw Aziz , shone with resounding victories in their professional and amateur debuts.

Danger wins with strategy, Borja can't find his night

The main event pitted contender Peligro , from Climent Club , against local idol Borja García , the reigning champion and Asturian standard-bearer. The Belgian put up a tactical, intelligent, and well-planned fight, but without any showmanship or unnecessary risks.

Borja, for his part, never quite found his feet in the Octagon. "The Eagle" tried to impose his pressure and reach, but lacked the spark and precision to hunt down an opponent who knew how to run, manage his timing, and score enough points to convince the judges. The split decision raised a stir at the Palacio de la Guía, with some in the crowd questioning the fairness of the result. The fact that a contender would take the belt in such a conservative manner didn't sit well with the MMA public in La Guía.

Iron Mor sweeps in his debut

The other big story of the night was the professional debut of Mor Dieye , known as "Iron Mor" , also representing the Centro Deportivo Tíbet . His debut couldn't have been more explosive: he needed just one minute and forty-five seconds to win by TKO with a devastating ground and pound . An impressive presentation that confirms that Tibet continues to be a talent center in Spanish MMA.

Diaw Aziz completes the Tibet festival

The third notable name of the evening was Diaw Aziz , another debutant from Tibet , who prevailed in his debut with a solid and capable performance. His victory rounded out a golden night for the gym run by the owners, which added two new prospects to the professional MMA scene.

An evening of contrasts in Gijón WAR 7

It offered everything: controversy in the main event, the unexpected defeat of Borja "El Águila" García , and at the same time the emergence of new figures who excited the public. While the Climent Club took home the belt with Peligro , the Centro Deportivo Tíbet celebrated a victorious double debut with Iron Mor and Diaw Aziz .

Gijón once again demonstrated that it breathes MMA and that events like WAR are essential for the growth of this sport in Spain.
